The Howling was a classic! Very good movie.

Now here’s an old one I bet you’ve never seen. Long story but I saw this as a young teen and ended up walking home in the rain around midnight. This thing scared the hell out of me! This trailer doesn’t do it justice. It’s sci/fi/horror.

An old one called "Galaxy of Terror", with Erin Moran (Joni) & the Freddy Kruger guy (when he was younger).
A planet with a Pyramid that created your own worst fear, so that you could face it. Used by a superior Alien race to educate their young.
Needless to say, most of the humans were massacred in the most horrible way they could individually/personally imagine because they couldn’t control their thoughts.
Only two survive, and one becomes the new "keeper" of the place.
A "sleeper" masterpiece of SF. It still gives me pause.

There are two 80’s classics that scared the hell out of me:
1. Carpenter’s "The Thing" – absolutely gross and scary.
2. The Exorcist – the original is the best.

I am surprised you did not put 28 days later in the zombie flicks, it was great.
